Could you do it?
And as he was setting out on his journey, a man ran up and knelt before him and asked him, “Good Teacher, what must I do to inherit eternal life?”
And Jesus said to him, “Why do you call me good? No one is good except God alone.
You know the commandments: ‘Do not murder, Do not commit adultery, Do not steal, Do not bear false witness, Do not defraud, Honor your father and mother.’”
And he said to him, “Teacher, all these I have kept from my youth.”
And Jesus, looking at him, loved him, and said to him, “You lack one thing: go, sell all that you have and give to the poor, and you will have treasure in heaven; and come, follow me.”
Disheartened by the saying, he went away sorrowful, for he had great possessions. Mark 10:17-22 (ESV)

i have often wondered that very thing.
Hmmm…. when we moved to Denmark to become missionaries, we left a lot behind. Of course, now we have been here nearly nine years, and we have accumulated a lot of stuff! LOL! I don’t know that it’s worth much, but I think if God told me to, I could give it away. He has shown me over and over that He will provide for my needs, so I don’t need to hang on to THINGS, I need to hold on to HIM!
I don’t have great riches and a lot of the “stuff” I have wouldn’t be so hard to part with as it’s just accumulation form over the years sooooo…I can’t honestly answer this because it might be a different story if I had great riches.
I believe there really are some people that He asks that of. Being willing to be made willing is sometimes all that we have to go on. Appreciate you, Sister.
I think if I KNEW God was asking me to, I think it would be a no brainer. But…..maybe it would be hard.
