  • A Godly Heritage

My husband’s parents are visiting from Missouri. It’s been such a treat to have them here for the week. My daughter-in-love and granddaughter came with them. She’s staying at her Mother’s home but we were able to spend the evening with them last night at my daughter’s home and will see them again on Monday. What a blessing!

My mother-in-love is such a hard worker. She is 82 years old but likes to help me in the kitchen. How wonderful to have an extra pair of hands. I told her I just may have to keep her! Here’s a picture I took of her last night at my daughter’s. My youngest granddaughter from Missouri is sitting on her lap.

My father-in-love read the Scriptures to the family yesterday morning at the breakfast table. I wonder how many generations in his family have done this. My husband comes from a family of at least 3 generations of preachers that I know of.  I’ve often thought that the most interesting genealogy would be a spiritual one where the faith of the ancestors was told. Oh, that God may bless not only my grandchildren but my great, great, great grandchildren with saving faith … if He so chooses to tarry.

  • What a blessing. I had a devote grandmother and she had a great influence in my life. My family was Catholic and they didn’t read the bible in those days.

  • Thank you so much for you words of encouragement.  I am looking into getting that book by Tripp.  I’m needing to learn as much as possible.  With theraputic kids, the more we know and understand, the better off we’ll be.  Again, thanks so much.

    Blessings, Monique

  • Ahhhhhhhhhhhh, how absolutely wonderful…The pictures are so precious! Thanks for sharing this with us. With much love and many prayers, Paula

  • RYC-They were talking to families in extreme debt so they were just trying to get these people to be realistic about their finances and look at their debt. They weren’t even opening their bills. So I can’t say I learned anything new. I’ve been trying to follow the idea from Cindy’s Porch of Do instead of buying. I try to keep myself busy so I won’t go shopping. This month I slipped a bit, but with the work I did today on reworking my budget I think I will be able to get better control. I want to be able to know what I can afford and can’t afford. I enjoy my crafts, but I just have to learn to keep the cost in line with my budget. I’m also trying to bring my utilities down.

  • What beautiful pictures! That is my hope, that the spiritual heritage given to me will continue for generations to come!

  • What a priceless picture of your “father-in-love” reading his Bible. I love that one and also of your “mother-in-love” holding your grandaughter. What love!

  • I always appreciate your comments on my site.  I enjoy checking your site each day, and especially liked this one.  A godly heritage is a wonderful thing.  I know, because we both enjoy that blessing, and pray that we have passed that on to our children.

  • What a joy and a blessing to have them in your life.  So many people have problems with in-laws.  It’s refreshing to see how y’all love one another.

    God bless you,

    Faye

  • what beautiful pictures! thank you for sharing :o )

    blessings to you and yours!

  • Your inlaws look so good for their age. Priceless pictures! You asked where our sewing retreat was held. For the past two years we have met at Highland Retreat Center in the Shenandoah Valley of Va. Most of the family live there in Va. I’m from DE, and I have one sister in Mississippi and one in Ga. The Retreat Center was perfect for our needs. We had any amount of room available for us. During the weekend some of the husbands and our father came. We just opened up more rooms as needed. The kitchen and diningroom are on the lower level and it is a well stocked kitchen with a dishwasher.

  • What a wonderful blessing to have a godly family. Something that is so often taken for granted. Thanks for sharing the pictures.
    God bless ~E

  • What a wonderful family and such a blessing!!!

    Hugs,
