Picture of our Church
It’s Sunday morning! I love Sunday’s! I love God’s Word! Our Pastor is a man of integrity and an excellent student of the Word. I look so forward to attending our little church of maybe 25 families. Our Xanga friend http://www.xanga.com/innacanoe ‘s normally posts pictures of local churches in her area so I told her one day I would post a picture of mine. Well, here it is!
Praise God for church families! We have our problems, just like every other church, but what better place to learn how to love one another!

I like to see pics of churches. I wonder what area of the country you live in? I live in N W Ohio. I am nearly 71;and have 29 grands living and Soon to be 9 great grands this year.
You ask what sand tarts are. Sorry i waited sooooo long to answer..The recipe comes from my mother in law (who has gone to her reward 22 yrs ago) She made them at Christmas time. They are a nice crisp cookie that must be cut out. Then brushed with egg white, sprinkled with suager and cinnamon and chopped peanuts. Takes time but they are sooo good. I have a few left. Makes me think I’ll go have one with a cup of ( Calli ) tea
RYC-Yes, I’m still organizing. I don’t think I ever finish that joy, there is always more to do. I need to do some more freezer cooking, but I’m having trouble with things not appealing to me. I tend to more snack than eat at those times and have trouble getting myself to cook or I cook it and don’t want to eat it. Soup actually sounds good. I was disappointed the last one I tried didn’t turn out. I think I’ll go back to my favorite and easy chicken soup, no recipe just cook some chicken or start with premade broth and add rice and veggies.
RYC-I have a hard time getting myself to do the scrapbooking too. Having a deadline of Christmas helped me to get the 2 for my gd’s done. It is expensive if you buy all the goodies. I think I’m going to make an apt. with myself every Thurs. at 2-3 I will work on it, for instance. I don’t know if that will work, but I might give it a try.
Thanks for stopping by my site! Stop by again soon…I love making new friends. I noticed that you enjoy some of the authors I, too, love–Elizabeth Elliot and John Piper to name just two! I also home schooled my two children who are now grown. And yes, HINDS FEET is an amazing book filled with great Scriptural truth! With much love in HIM, Paula
Good morning. I found you from Polly’s site and what a delight to read your postings! We also attend a small church and what a blessing for us to be part of this group of caring believers. I also think of Xanga as a blessing. It is very good to connect with like minded people.
I hope your day goes well!
THANK YOU for the picture of your church, Georgene! I love it. It has a sort of Spanish architecture, doesn’t it?
What you stated about your church having problems just like other churches and how that is a way for us to learn submission and to get along is so true. We are so human and that gets in our way at times, but praise God we have a Bridge that connects us with the spiritual Power that gives us the ability to forgive each other and truly love each other. God did not leave us comfortless and neither did He leave us in bondage. Jesus Christ sets us free!!!
Georgene, thanks for your comments. You asked what our “family sewing day” was. I come from a family of 7 girls and 1 brother. Our parents owned and operated a fabric store and Bernina dealership during the years we all were at home. Now we live all accross the country. Mississippi, Delaware, Georgia and the rest in Virginia. About 5 or 6 years ago us sisters and our mother would get together in the spring at a cabin and bring our own sewing machines and projects and would sew for a couple days. We now include our daughters, daughter in laws, granddaughters and our one sister in law. We’ve went from 4 days to about 7-10 days together. Usually by the end of the week a couple of the men show up as well as our Father. He can’t stay away! It truly is a high-light of my year. This year we will be at Highland Retreat Center in Virginia. I’ll definatly post pictures of the event. Look for it at the end of Feb.
About our sewing circle. Our group consists of 30-40 people from 4 differet churches. We meet in the church basement out of nessesity. A home would be cozy but really doesn’t suit our needs. Most of our work is for MCC (Mennonite, Central Committee) an organization that supplies, clothing, bedding, food, health kits, etc. fro Releif efforts all around the world. We meet once a month and usually have 2 quilts in progress as well as knot 3 to 4 comforts a month. Several ladies work on the machines. Usually the home schooled young girls work on a project or two. Hope this answered some of the questions you have.
I’m so very grateful for my close knit family as well as my church family. They mean so much to me.
HI Georgene- Sending Heidi back to school was soo hard this time. She is doing well there and making good decisions, and allowing God to use her in many ways. ~But we miss her so much. I wish I could drop by your church on a Sunday.
RYC-I haven’t figured out how I’m going to fit in the zone work yet or those seasonal chores. I want to just get use to doing the dailies and weeklies consistently.
Sometimes I wish our church was smaller … we have about 2000 now … I miss the old days of picnics and potlucks and tent revivals …church is too commercialized these days!
Came by to check on you!
Hope your day is blessed!
Connie
