What are you doing today?
I’ve noticed a few blogs have asked what their readers were doing today. I enjoyed reading their comments. It’s fun to ‘peek’ inside other women’s homes and see life being lived out. It sparks ideas in my mind and I become encouraged. So, I was wondering…
What are YOU doing today?
It’s only 2:30pm in California and my day is not nearly over. I’ll post tonight when I sit down.
I’m looking forward to hearing about your day!

Babysat until 3:30, no afternoon nap today so we were outside for more than 2 hours. Made dinner cleaned up the kitchen and I am done in!
Gonna read for a while.
I spent my day at home… I freezer cooked, made my first batch of peanut butter and it was good! Read with my kiddos. It was a good day.
I took a grand-daughter to the library, then to MacDonald’s for an ice cream cone then to a park. I washed 2 loads of clothes, and made supper. Then I went to the Awana Awards Program at our church so I could see another grand-daughter get an award for finishing her book. And a few other little things in between.
@oldfatgramma - I love days when I can take a nap.
What are you reading?
I want to take my GD to Awana’s but I can’t see well to drive at night. It seems to be a great program.
@jewelofthelord - What did you make for the freezer? Do you think the PB is cheaper to make than buy? I hear store bought PB is full of pesticides from the peanuts.
@ata_grandma - You had a fun day.
My main goal today was to work at a steady pace and not get stressed. Mondays are normally the day I set aside to clean and I set too many goals this week and find myself being short of patience. So, today my main goal was to work and be patient.
I started my morning with bible study. My DIL came over with my GS and we walked about 20 minutes together. I hung out a load of towels on the line. Cut my husband’s hair. Cleaned the shower and vacuumed. Made 3 loaves of bread (2 for my mom) and ran them over to her house. She loves homemade bread for breakfast. Made the “Perfect Pot Roast” recipe for dinner (it was perfect) and started a puzzle with Alice. I finished the day by cleaning the shower. It was a good day!
I purchased the jar of low salt, roasted, shelled peanuts today. I used 15 oz of peanuts. I think it would be less expensive if I bought the raw bag of peanuts possibly and shelled them myself. The taste to me is so much better and I know what is in it. There isn’t any added sugar or high fructose corn syrup. It’s just sweetened with a little pure honey. I really do love it. I blanched vegetable today and froze them and shredded blocks of cheese from Sam’s and froze them in two cup portions. I also cooked up some chicken breasts that I will freeze. Your day sounded wonderful. Homemade bread and pot roast sound perfect!
@jewelofthelord - I love fresh ground peanut butter. I just love peanut butter period. My husband says I’m addicted. It’s cheap protein!
You were a busy lady! I love hearing about what women do in their homes. Thanks for posting.
I am reading this early on May 3. First I am going to Curves, then I will spend the day in my office – mailing letters and flyers to the vendors and sponsors for TFC’s upcoming Truck Rally in June. After work and supper, I will enter today’s blog, then work on my counted-cross stitch project – a photo of our house. Unless God changes my plans.
Blessings on your day.
@cerwindoris - Doris… I think of you often and your trucking ministry. How awesome that you’re able to cross stitch a photo of your home. I didn’t know that was possible. Have a glorious day in the Lord.
@georgene - Not a nap for me……for baby girl
Reading A prayer for the night by PL Gaus
You can stitch anything you can photograph. I have already done 13 of our 16 grandchildren. You purchase a kit, then send a photo to a company who transfers it to a counted cross stitch pattern.
@cerwindoris - That is such an awesome idea Doris! I’ll have to tell my sister who loves to cross stitch. I’m lousy at it but I sure enjoy her gifts. Thanks for sharing.
@oldfatgramma - Oh! LOL!!! Well, hopefully you were able to rest while she napped. My grandson was here for the day. He’s such a good boy but I’m very ready for a good night’s sleep when he goes home. I think that means I’m getting old!
This is the link to what I use. http://www.joann.com/stitch-a-photo-in-cross-stitch-/prd1249/
It can often be found a Joann Fabrics too. You buy the kit – fill out the form, and mail a photo in the provided envelope. I pay extra to get my pattern in 4 sheets, as the pattern is larger and easier on my eyes. I like using 18 count material because I think it makes it look a bit more like the photo. If I don’t want the entire photo to be used, I use stick-on notes to show them how I want it cropped. I think that is about it for my hints.
@cerwindoris - That is great information. I’ll let my sister know. Who knows.. maybe someday I’ll be brave enough and give it a try.
