  • I’m so content..

Everything has changed … yet nothing has changed!

That is what I was thinking this afternoon at the end of a full day of work in my little home. Yes, my surroundings have changed… my space is smaller.. much smaller!  I am still doing many of the duties I did in a home ten times this size.. just on a smaller scale. There are still dishes to be done daily, furniture to be dusted, a bed to be made and a floor to be cleaned.

The ‘fun’ part is that I can finish my housework lickity split! I love that! Since we moved into our small space I’m able to spend more time studying God’s Word, reading good books, ministering to His people and studying areas that interest me in God’s Word. I hope I don’t ever have to give that up for a big home again.

I’m content… happy as a bug in a rug… thank you Lord for this wonderful gift of time and freedom!

  • Content is a wonderful place to be.

  • “Contentment with godliness is great gain.”

  • you found a gift ..that the world longs for …………..People buy ,buy buy looking for  what money can’t buy and that is contentment and peace .! The less we have the happier we are ! Wish so many others would learn this ……….:)

  • When I first began to read your blog, you had a post up of your beautiful house at Christmas. I was so impressed with how many decorations you had and the view from your back porch and all your space. What a lesson for ME it has been to see you trusting God through all of this. Thank you for sharing your journey of faith, both the challenges, and the victories.

  • I know what you mean, Georgene!  We went from a house that was nearly 1800 square feet to one that was 1200 square feet.  I like it loads better and I’m able to get things done quicker than before.  Now, when the children grow up, I hope we can move into something even smaller!

  • I am a blessed grandma.
I was on my way to the beach when I realized that verse actually says “Godliness with contentment is great gain.”  Then I forgot about it until the middle of the night when I woke up briefly.  So now it is morning and I am correcting it.  Lol.

  • @ata_grandma - I knew what you meant and didn’t give it a second thought. It ‘warms my heart’ that you were thinking about it. Hope your day was blessed!
