Well, I hope I have good news!
After 1 1/2 years it looks like we MIGHT have sold our home. We went back and forth with the buyers and finally came to an agreement. Our home goes into escrow tomorrow morning. Can I continue to ask for your prayers this month? So many homes fall out of escrow right up to the last minute before signing. We are very hopeful but are trying to keep our hearts guarded against disappointment knowing that God’s ways are not always our own. We want to keep our hearts submitted to His will.
We found a house about an hour away from where we live and put an offer on it. We’re hoping we will hear this week that they accepted our offer. We have a 30 day escrow on this home so we need prayer that everything will move quickly with the new home so that we can move right in when our escrow closes.
This move will drop our payments BIG TIME which means that I won’t have to work part-time. I’m not sure who’s more excited about it.. me or my husband! He has hated me working. It’s the first time I’ve worked outside my home in 24 years. Even though it’s only been part-time it’s changed so much in our home and in serving in the church. Maybe someday I can share what I’ve learned.
The decision where to move was not easy.. mainly because our dear church family will be 45 minutes away. We’ve loved living right around the corner from the church and ministering to those nearby. My husband just recently decided to move farther away because it will mean two less hours of commute time for him a day. He has been working 13-15 hours a day for the past 1 1/2 which has meant less time to serve in our church anyway. He is worn out on his days off. We still plan on traveling back to our little church where God’s Word is preached boldly and uncompromised! We know firsthand how difficult it is to find a church that is not focused on entertainment but God’s Word.
Thank you for your prayers. It has meant so much! Please don’t stop!
Big hugs!
Georgene

Oh, I’m so glad to hear your good news! That is fantastic! I can imagine how excited you both are about you staying home again~ I will be praying that things will go smoothly with both houses, Lord willing~ {{hugs}}
I’ll be praying for you. Glad to hear there is, at least, a possibility. I know what you mean about it’s not firm until the end. I hope you like your new home. It sounds like it will be a lot easier on your hubby and you too. It’s interesting that you would sell now when the real estate market is so bad. That just goes to show that when God is involved it doesn’t matter. His timing is His timing.
Yes, I’m praying everything goes according to God’s will for you!
We too are praying about a move so that I don’t have to work…..and we too are wanting to move so that Pat doesn’t have so far to drive every day. Right now he is driving 700 miles per week to go to work and church! Yikes!
Will be anxious to hear about all that you’ve learned!
Blessings to you as you wait on escrow….sometimes waiting is the hardest part. Q.’
Good Day!….We only rent our house I didn’t know there was sooo much involved with selling and buying a house. Hope everything works out quickly and smoothly.
Hubby and I have been discussing our work hours. 12 hours a day somedays for me and 8 hours a day for him. We have to do this in order to make any money driving cab. But we are now deciding to quit cab and get into something else. Because I know what you mean it is definitely affecting things at home. We don’t have much time for each other. In order to make time other things have to be put on hold which only creates more frustrations and stress. So I will be looking for another job that is only a few hours a day. At least I will be home in the evening when everyone is home.
We too we only go to services where the word of God is not compromised. That it is told the way it should be told. Hubby was asked to preach at his cousins church one time but they politely asked him not to preach the way he was preaching. Preaching against sin, getting rid of your sin. They didn’t like that way. They just wanted to talk about good happy things. But those good happy things only are real when you get rid of sin and God will Bless you. Even my BIL his preaching is “entertaining” and people like that. Its unbelievable. Then when someone is preaching against sin people get up mad and leave the church. Its sad. Even my BIL gets mad when he asks his brother (my husband) to preach. BIL gets “hit” with Gods word and gets mad. Oh well.
Ok. After all that…lol! Praise God and have a Blessed Day!!
I’ll be keeping you in prayer during this time! We also know how difficult it is to find a church where they preach the Word of God. Thankfully, my husband does preach the truth of God’s Word (although many don’t like it) and it has been both a help and encouragement to me! I think we’ve driven a ways away to attend a church that is willing to teach the truth instead of nice fluffy messages. It is very true that if the truth isn’t taught and the sin isn’t dealt with then you can’t have the clear conscience and the blessings of God in your spiritual life.
Anyways, we’re praying!
It does sound like the money, time, effort saved during the week will make up for the distance to church — and I trust that our Lord will provide for you spiritually as you move and serve Him from just a bit further away
Blessings, Laurie
Praying that God will work out all the details, and continue to guide you and provide for you.
Any news?
