I was excited to find this list of the best times to purchase certain fruits and veggies. I’ve used a similar list for household items which has been very helpful! I plan on keeping this list near my shopping list and menu planner so I can keep an eye on what recipes would be best to use for the veggies on sale.

I found this list on Frugal Living. I signed up for their newsletter a long time ago and it’s one of my best resources if I’m wanting to read about radical frugality.  Here is a link to their homepage.

  • Thanks for that list. I get a similar newsletter, but delete it more than I read it… I have gotten some good ideas when I do read it.I apreciate everyones idea’s about frugality.

  • You are a source of information and an inspiration. Love ya

  • I think I need to add some variety into our diet. These fruits and vegetables sound so good, and many of them I seldom or never buy. This list is good to have….thank you Georgene for sharing this. Love you!

  • I just saw something about this on CBS News. They also said buying singles was better than buying a bag (for instance, cheaper to hand pick five pounds of potatoes, than buy a five-pound bag. I was surprised to hear that, and I really doubt it’s true. I priced it out before, but I’m going to double check form now on.
