  • Here you go PollythePatchworker!

Polly asked to see a quilt that she spotted in a picture from my last post. So, this is for you Polly!

This is the quilt you saw in the photo. You guessed it… your typical Trip Around the World. My husband and I visited an Amish quilt shop in Ohio quite a few years ago. My husband picked out a beautiful piece of fabric that had a purple background with a turquoise blue print. It took me several years to find the right colors to finish his quilt.

This next quilt pattern is called Blooming Nine Patch. It’s a color wash pattern where you blend the fabrics in a way that it’s suppose to look like just one print going from light fabric to dark. I think there is over 2,000 pieces.

This last quilt is also a color wash. We were supposed to blend the colors from light to dark.

So that’s it! Nothing as fancy as what you quilt! I’m an amateur quilter who just dabbles!

  • The quilts are beautiful. How are you doing with your diet. I’ve gone to no starch at all to try and lose some more weight, but without exercise it’s slow going. I think I feel better tho and I’m getting use to not having the starch. Linda

  • Thank you so much for your words of wisdom on my site.  I was just wondering if I know you?  BTW, my recipes are not original.  I have a few cookbooks that I love that I’ve gotten all my recipes from.

  • Thanks for subscribing to my web site.  Your quilts are so beautiful.  My sewing/craft room needs a good decluttering.  Those good small pieces are so hard to throw away … but they pile up.  I’m looking forward to reading more of your posts.

  • Your quilts are beautiful!

  • ryc:LOL, my husband told everyone yesterday, on his birthday that he was 53. It was late last night when he realized that he is only 52.

  • Those are trememndous!!  Just beautiful!!

  • Beautiful quilts! Lovely!

RYC: In one picture in a recent posting I am the blonde in the pink jacket trying to rest my elbow on the head of another gal . I am also trying to catch up on sites I enjoy but haven’t taken time to browse. I certainly enjoy your inspirational writings. Even de-cluttering closets can be inspiring!

  • Yes I am living in Jamaica right now, just outside of Montego Bay.  I am here for at least a year.  (A year will be up in March.)  Jamaica Relief Ministries is in the process of starting an orphanage.  They have bought the land and are starting to clear the main road and parts of the land.  I can’t wait to see what the Lord has in store for us here.

  • No I’m not counting calories or carbs. Yes I eat fruit. I haven’t been very good about testing lately and I need to test more. I haven’t been paying as much attention to portion size lately and I need to esp. for fruit. I’m eating more protein, cheese and nuts to replace the starch. Still trying to eat more vegs. but not all that successful. I was feeling with no starch I could afford to eat more fruit, but I haven’t tested enough to know if that is true. I think it depends on which fruit you’re eating. That’s why I need to test. Linda

  • if you are just an amateur quilter then your “better” ones will be AMAZING to see.  i think you are doing a great job!

  • Amateur??  Looks great!  My mom would love to visit with you. =)

  • Georgene, Thanks so much for posting the quilt pictures!  The colorwash one is stunning!  I’ve always wanted to try one of those but felt I never had enough large prints to work with.

The trip around the world has beautiful color placement.

Are these quilts for your children?…grandchildren?…your bed?

I see you got a comment from LeckyBoo. She is my neice.  One of my sister’s gals.

  • Yes, I am the G’ma in the picture. These G’kds have always called me Nana.

  • Wow what lovely quilts. I absolutely love the color wash one. Its been years since I’ve had time to quilt and wouldn’t even attempt to try one that intricate. You should sell them. I know what you mean about all of your “stuff” I have tons of material that I go into quite often to help some little girl have a pretty dress or a baby have something that otherwise they would be without. Then I give my scraps to a neighbor that uses them in her crafts that she sells to help make a living for her and her family.  BTW: I left the answer to your question on the previous post by mistake.

Have a blessed week & God keep you safe, healthy & happy. HUGS

  • Your quilts are so good.  I don’t have the patience to piece together like that.  Beautiful!

  • RYC: not really we just have to keep on keeping on. It is more about him telling us where their teachings come from and how they are taught to eradicate every Jew and Infidel from the face of the earth. How they differ from our Bible. Who is going to be in the army fighting the battle of Armageddon. The present president of Iran Iamadiddyjod thinks he is the one that will lead the army of Armageddon, against Israel. Like the Lord said to watch and prepare as the day gets closer. We have to strengthen our own faith. I surely don’t want to have to take up aarms to defend my loved ones but if forced to I will.

    HUGS again

  • Wow!  Those quilts are BEAUTIFUL!  How talented you are!  I am behind on posts, but read back and saw that you are selling your house.  You are a busy lady who understands the value of prioritizing…I truly understand your thoughts and know my time on xanga has decreased greatly.  I am praying for you this night–asking God to bless you immensely!  In HIS amazing love, Paula
