Making myself ‘lovable’
You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, and with all your soul, and with all your mind.
This is the great and foremost commandment. The second is like it, You shall love your neighbor as yourself. Matt 22:37-39
I know that each of us recognize this Scripture applies to us personally. But, have you ever thought about OUR responsibility to make ourselves ‘easy to love’ so that our husbands (children, neighbors, employer, parents) can obey this command?
I not only sin against God when I am easily angered and respond harshly but I also tempt my loved one to sin against me. My harsh words can stir up anger in someone else.
A gentle answer turns away wrath, but a harsh word stirs up anger. Prov 15:1
If I speak harshly to a loved one then I become a stumbling block in their obedience to love me!!
We owe it to our loved ones to be as loving, gentle and kind as we can possibly be. That is true love!
Owe nothing to anyone except to love one another;
for he who loves his neighbor has fulfilled the law.
Rom 13:8
May the Lord give us His grace to obey His Word and to truly keep our thoughts focused on loving others instead of pleasing ourself and our sinful desires.

RYC: Yes, my busy season is over, but my hubby is still quite busy. It seems since tax season has been over, I have been trying to catch up at the house and my time has been more limited on xanga. And then, we went to our daughter’s college graduation in Illinois. We were gone a week and I was completely away from xanga! I did miss reading your entries and the entries of others!! Anyhoooooooo, have a wonderful week, dear sister…I’ll be checking back often! With much love and many prayers, Paula
Great post for pondering and convicting. Thanks for the encouragement!
God bless ~E
RYC about the book “Eyes at the Window”. I am enjoying it. It is about the murder of a little child. It looks into the lives of several different people, goes thru several different generations. It is kinda hard to stay with. I’m anxious to see the outcome of it and find out what actually happened to the child.
Hey friend! How are you doing this week? With much love and many prayers, paula
RYC: I am so excited about the upcoming new arrival! I am doing okay. I have some upcoming doctor app’ts for my folks, so I will be going with them. I had a wonderful afternoon visiting with a dear lady from church. Of course, I never seem to have trouble finding something to do–cooking, laundry, cleaning! hehee I am sure you know what I mean! Anyhoooooooo, it is great to hear from you! Love ya, Paula
where xanga used to be my ‘life’, now school is. i’m too anxious to be done i think. want to learn more, fast and be done and on with things. my patience runs thin. today is my day ‘off’ of school. lots to do, including homework, but i wanted to try to get around to my subs, just to let y’all know that i’m not dead or anything, and that i still care about you, even if i’m only on here to comment once in a blue moon anymore. ha!
keep lookin’ up and plodding onward! (with the rest of us!)
p.s. …i think yer purdy luvable!
This entry really really spoke to me. The Lord used it to convict me, as we are going thru some stressful times now. Thanks for encouraging me to be loving to my husband and family. I wanted to post when I first read this, but I had to figure out how, and to finally get to become a xanga member.
Thanks for your postings.
