  • I got up earlier than my husband this morning because I need to travel into the next town (45 minutes away) for some testing on my heart.

I’m so thankful to the Lord that He has allowed me time to get some Christmas sewing accomplished this week. The last couple of years our business has struggled (we’re in trucking) due to the high cost of fuel and insurances so my part has been to do all I can to make our pennies stretch. I found flannel on sale a while back at Joann’s so I’m sewing pj’s for the grands. I have 3 boys pj’s nearly done. Yesterday I worked on a doll dress for one of my granddaughter’s. I have a really cute pattern for a Barbie tote and a Barbie organizer that you hang in the closet. I have a lot of scrap material so these should not cost me a lot except some clear vinyl and binding. I also found an adorable picture of a Chinese checker quilt. I heard my oldest grandson say the other day that checkers were his favorite game. So, I checked my fabric drawer and found some material  that I think will work. I think I’ll make the checkers look like small little bean bags.

My husband has been off for a couple of weeks from driving. Last week he worked around the property. He put in drip sprinklers on a row of eucalyptus trees on the side of our property. We had transplanted them from the back field last winter. This week he has been in the shop working on repairs.

It’s turning off chilly here. I woke up so cold last night. I had added an extra thin blanket on the bed but I think it’s time to add another one. I’m going to change the mattress pad and put on the electric one instead. It works well for my husband’s arthritis.

I was thinking about our chickens, ducks and one lone goose and their need for some added protection from the weather so I plan on buying a roll of heavy plastic to put over their windows and doors in the chicken coop. My Mom and Dad did this for us last year. I have the greatest parents.

I’ve been thinking about heaven a lot this past week. So many things that remind me that this life is to temporal. We are not even promised our next breath let alone another day. I pray, as an evangelist I once heard, that God would stamp eternity on my forehead.  The Lord has blessed me with such a wonderful life compared to so many Christian’s around the world who have endured persecution. Oh, I do pray for more boldness in sharing His Word with strangers. Please pray, if you happen to think of me, that the Lord would bring a Spanish speaking Pastor to the people in our small little community. At the ‘give away’ we have a good size group of Spanish speaking families that come for food and clothing. They need a Pastor in our town that will care about them and be willing to minister to their needs. Several of these families are straight from Mexico and are very, very poor. They work in the fields.  One family was living in a garage, literally, that leaked  last year during the rains. They had a small little baby who had no coat for winter.

We have so much to be grateful for ! God bless you all and enjoy your day in Him.

  • Georgene,
I hope your tests come back fine.  I agree with you that we need to be thankful to God because we are so blessed.  Even when we are struggling to pay this months bills, we are still blessed in so many, many ways.  I hope I never take it for granted.  It could be us who are poor and without coats for our children.

Thank you God for your many blessings on us.

    God bless you,

    Faye

  • Amen, Faye!

Tests came back just fine! Thanks for caring. It’s apparently just stress. I thought I had a handle on all the activity around her but guess not. More prayer needed.

    Blessings,
    Georgene

  • Hi Georgene:

I signed your guest book and wanted to thank you again for visiting.

The eucalyptus trees sound so WONDERFUL!!!!! I like their smell alot.

RYC: No- you are not the only one who gets worn out! I have Fibromyalgia and I get worn out pretty quick, but I THANK GOD that I can still hold my grandkids.

    ((( HUGS )))

  • Georgene,  Praying for you stress! I know lots about that!    You are so right that we are so blessed and need to focus on that so much more!

    Jenn

  • Hi Lori,

I have a friend who has Fibromyalgia. It truly does wear a person out. I have nothing to complain about… I’m in good health. Just the body heading on the downward side of the hill. I’m ready by God’s grace!

Grandchildren are SO worth it! Aren’t they? My granddaughter was over for lunch today and helped me make it. What a precious little pea pod! Thanks for visiting!

  • Hi Jenn,

Yep, that’s life in America for most. I bring a lot of it on myself and add things to do my day that are not absolutely necessary. It’s a daily choice to keep my eyes on the Lord and seek His will! Some mornings I’m off and running without setting my eyes on Him first and waiting for His direction. Hope you’re not under too much stress!
